I live in Sydney, Australia, with my husband and five year old daughter. I’m a stay-at-home mum and full-time domestic engineer. Day to day, I love going for a walk with Annette, poking around thrift shops and secondhand bookstores, knitting, sewing, reading, blogging and reading blogs, and experimenting with cooking.
I learned to knit in 2003, while pregnant with my daughter. I discovered knitting blogs about a year later, and have been obsessed with knitting ever since.
Through blogs I also discovered sewing last year, which I’m also rather obsessed about at the moment. The inspirations you get from seeing other people’s creations are just amazing.
I think there’s something remarkable about being able to create things with your hands. Things I can wear, things I can use, things I can dress up my kid in. One of my favourite websites is whip up. I love their tag line, “handcrafted in a hectic world”. I think living in the world these days, where most things are factory-made, and everything has to be instant, it really is a joy to take some time out and work on something beautiful.
